Helen C.  Notaro (Welch)
Clinton-Helen C. (Welch) Notaro, 92, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Friday, February 2, 2018. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, Rocci Notaro, who died in 2005. She is survived by loving children, Mary E. Notaro of Leominster; Patrick J. Notaro & spouse Gregg Saulnier of Hopkinton; Rocco F. Notaro & spouse Benita of Leicester; and Paul E. Notaro of Clinton; 3 grandchildren, Anthony, Isabelle, and Rocco V. Notaro. She leaves her siblings, Marjorie Kurgan of East Falmouth and Rev. John Welch of Danielson, CT; generations of nieces, nephews, her best friend Marie O’Toole, and many dear friends. She is pre-deceased by her siblings, Dr. Paul F. Welch, Mary Welch, and Madeline Foster.
Helen was born in Clinton to the late John E. & Elizabeth (McGarry) Welch. She graduated from the Clinton High School, Class of 1943, and achieved her R.N. degree from the Clinton Hospital School of Nursing in 1946. Helen devoted her career as a nurse to providing care for countless patients at the Clinton Hospital for nearly 30 years before retiring. In addition to raising her family, Helen was a lifelong member of St. John the Guardian of Our Lady Parish, and held membership with the Ancient Order of Hibernians. She was happiest while in the company of her family and enjoyed the pleasures of baking and scrap booking. Helen will be forever missed and remembered lovingly as a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Funeral services are to be held on Thursday, February 8, 2018 from the Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:30AM in St. John the Evangelist Church, 80 Union St., Clinton. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Lancaster. Calling hours will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 from 4 until 7PM.
