Clinton-Alison (Spencer) McDonald, 54, died suddenly on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at the Clinton Hospital after being stricken ill at home. She is survived by her beloved husband of 26 years, Brian J. McDonald; their sons, Brian P. McDonald, and Justin A. McDonald, all of Clinton. She leaves her siblings and their spouses, George Spencer of Worcester; Karen Moran & Michael; Michael Spencer & Amy; Kelly McIntyre & Patrick; brothers-in-law, Michael “Tapper” O’Malley; Daniel McDonald & wife Marilyn, all of Clinton; and David McDonald & wife Edna of Fitchburg; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and many dear friends. She is pre-deceased by her infant son Alexander McDonald; her sister, Deirdre O’Malley; mother and father-in-law, Viola and Alexander McDonald; and sister-in-law, Velva Spencer.
A lifelong Clintonian, was born the daughter of the late Eugene & Margaret (Kelly) Spencer. She graduated from the Clinton High School, Class of 1982 and achieved her professional degree in Nursing from Quinsigamond Community College. She started working part-time during high school in the office of the dietician at the Clinton Hospital and remained there for more than thirty-five years throughout her professional career as a Registered Nurse. Known for her quick wit and sense of humor, Alison brought care and comfort to the countless patients she served at the Clinton Hospital and sustained lifelong friendships with her many colleagues. She loved her dogs and always looked forward to Caribbean vacations with her family. Alison was an avid gardener who enjoyed the outdoors and summers by her pool. She lived for her family and found joy in attending her sons sporting events. She will be forever missed and remembered lovingly as a dedicated wife, mother, sister, aunt, nurse, and friend. Funeral services are to be held on Friday, May 11, 2018 from the Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10AM in St. John the Evangelist Church, 80 Union St., Clinton. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Lancaster. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 10, 2018 from 4 until 7PM in the funeral home.
